New Hampshire School Vacation

There are so many things in and around New Hampshire to do with the children during school vacation week of April 25-29th.  For those beautiful days why not pack a picnic lunch and head to one of our so many wonderful parks.  There is Griffin Park in Windham NH, Don Ball Park in Derry NH, and Field of Dreams in Salem, NH are some of our favorites.  You also have the Salem Forest or Robert Frost farm for a walk, picnic or even make it fun and see who can spot the most birds as both of these are loaded with wildlife.

For those rainy days take in a movie, we have an awesome theater in Methuen at the Loop, or make it fun and head to Chunky's in several locations for some lunch & relaxing Chairs.

There is also the Christa McAuliffe Planetarium in Manchester, Children's Museum in Portsmouth, The aquarium in Boston and Childrens' Museum in Boston.  Many of your Libraries if you get them in time offer free passes, but they are limited.

There are also many garden centers open this time of year, why not pick up a couple of flowers, strawberry or plants and watch them grow.

There is so many wonderful things to do this time of year and our children grow so fast. I hope you have the opportunity to take a day during this break and enjoy some of the wonderful things in and around New Hampshire.

Great food & comfortable atmosphere!!

Looking for authentic Mexican food??  Maybe dinner or lunch?? My family and I decided to try the new Plaza Azteca on the Salem NH & Methuen MA line.  And "WOW" you are greeted at the door by a friendly person, seated and the service was great!! The atmosphere is very authentic and inviting.   Now straight to the food.  Not only was the menu very extensive and offered something for everyone it was very easy to read.  Now to the food it was truly delicious!! It had to be the best rice I have ever eaten.  It was cooked perfectly. When you enter the restaurant you pass by the desert cooler and think wow those look delicious.  So I had to try the white chocolate raspberry cheese cake and truly it was the best I have every eaten.

I hope you have found this to be a helpful blog and will go and enjoy a great meal!!

Salem NH 2010 Parade

Salem NH Holiday Parade 2010

By: Rachel D. Barrett
This years parade will be on Sunday November 28th starting at 1:00.
The parade begins on Rte 97 from cisco Systems and will continue down Rte 97 with a final destination of Salem High School on Germonty Drive.
The festivities are always a fun. My family and I enjoy watching the floats, dancers, bands, music etc from the corner of Meisner and Geromonty. The church even sells hot cocoa and other hot beverages for those cold parade days.
This years Theme is "Past, Present & Future" and the Grand Marshall this year will be Al Kaprielian ("Good Evening") who was best know for being the meteorologist for 26 years with Channel 50.
I hope to see you and your families down there this year!!
